The cooperative SG is formed by a group of 13 young people who have been contributing to the venture for the past 6 years. They are engaged in making various types of disposable styrofoam containers, aluminum and polyethylene. They are assemblers and distributors of these materials (although they recently opened a local retail store) and have the challenge to buy the products directly from manufacturers with | their savings. To do so they need to raise an amount of capital which is hard to do because of the dynamics of their business. The loan from La Base will allow them to reach those manufacturers and generate an extra profit that would cover the loan and provide capital needed for the cooperative to grow. The cooperative also plays a role as diffuser of the ideas of cooperativism and provides classes. |
