Crometal is a metallurgical cooperative with who La Base has been working since the NGO started operating in 2005. Since then eight loans have been given, all with good results and a good impact for the cooperative. In fact the growth of the cooperative has showed that the usual amounts of our loans are not always big enough to cover the needs of the cooperative.
In recent loans La Base has | helped the cooperative to make investments without having to wait to save the amount necessary (as in the last loan, when money was invested to improve the efficiency of the paint sector) and to overcome brief financial downturns that they can not fully cover. This is the case with this loan in which a late payment to Crometal resulted in an overdraft of $ 50,000. La Base will cover 15,000.
