The cooperative Manos Obrera is the legal entity through which a series of productive projects obtain legal status and transition into the formal economy.Inside this cooperative there are four distinct social movements and 22 productive projects. One of these latter is the block-maker which, according to internal evaluations, is the most worthy of strengthening for various reasons: providing social inclusion for youth, profitable work potential, and the possibility of job creation for more compañeros within the broader movement. The blocks themselves are bought primarily by other members of the movement at low prices | and have also been used for the construction of various movement centers.
The project will last approximately a month and a half: from the purchase of the materials, through the production phase, the drying of the blocks, up until the sale and collection of payment. To be able to move forward smoothly without bumps in the road due to a lack of material, it is of course necessary to have sufficient capital. For this reason La Base will facilitate the purchase of materials for the production of 5000 blocks (approximately one month of production), and the cooperative will finance the other 15 days of the project. |
