The IMPA recovered cooperative is one of the biggest companies in the country's aluminum product sector. However, due to a series of mismanagement and internal conflicts that led to sometime violent evictions, the factory never could achieve its potentials. At the moment they are at the brink of bankruptcy, so they are trying to find a way to finance the purchase of raw materials to continue operations while waiting for a political solution to their problems. Thus they have come to La Base to finance the acquisition of 1 ton of aluminum to start increasing their | stock of supplies.
IMPA is also a very visible cooperative, not only because it is in the heart of the capital, but above all because they have been one of the leading players in the movement of recuperating factorings. In fact, the MNER ("Movimiento Nacional de Empresas Recuperadas", or National Movement of Recuperated Businesses) steamed from the founding of IMPA. Their precarious financial situation is also very well-known, and it's possible that overcoming these difficulties would be an important step for the public image of recuperated factories. |
