In partnership with Root Capital, our investment will allow the Masili Clothing Cooperative to purchase larger orders of cotton from its Peruvian supplier soon after harvest time, when cotton prices are still low. The investment will also presumably increase sales. Several clients have already turned down the group because of the long 20-week waiting period that follows each order. With our investment, | this lag time could be reduced by as much as 50%. Our investment would also eliminate the need for clients to pay for part of their orders up front, which could also attract new buyers.
